Hi my name is Casey and I want to welcome you to My Million Dollar Movie dot com. I’m a director of film and television. I’ve put this site together to help realize a dream of mine, and, with the support of people like you, it is already coming true! I strongly believe this is an amazing opportunity so please read on.
So I am going to make a movie.
Unfortunately, movies aren’t cheap and aren’t easy to finance. I’ve developed this concept of democratic fundraising because I don’t know any studio executives or Hollywood power brokers that would help get this made. The process of submitting and financing films through studios and government institutions is also a long one and even though I just turned 31, I’d like to make my film before I’m in my forties!!
"Without the big machine, you can push yourself to tell stories in a way that you normally wouldn't tell them. With that freedom and lack of pressure, innovators are better positioned to take bigger leaps. " Gary Winick Producer/Director “Charlotte’s Web”
I knew I had to come up with a more creative way to raise the funds then have a bake sale, donate my body for science or try and find “Angel” investors who would just hand me the money.
I wanted to give the public the opportunity to participate in the process but I wasn’t sure how to go about letting the world know of my plan. I figured that the Internet was the best place to start and that is when I discovered Alex Tew’s brilliant business model for his “Million Dollar Home Page”.
Well I quickly learned that everyone and their grandmother were jumping on this bandwagon. I needed something different.
Then one sleepless night it came to me: sell the frames of the film to the public. So instead of providing a space for pixels I am providing a site where people and companies can purchase frames in which to post video or still images for people to see. And, like the pixel pages, they can link those frames to their own website for further viewing.
Purchasers could not only receive advertising and website traffic for their money, but in the event that the film makes a profit, they would not only have their purchase funds returned, but will be able to select an environmental charity to donate profits to, proportional to the number of frames they’ve purchased .
If you don’t have any video to post or you aren’t a company, you can still buy individual frames, own a piece of my film and help the environment. Now, keeping the planet beautiful can be as easy as going to the movies.
I hope you enjoy your time here and I appreciate any and all support you lend to making this dream come true.

Contests and Incentives.
Well now that we're in 21 countries and the response from all everyone has
been so wonderful, I thought it was time to announce what's next for all of
you. As producers of My Million Dollar Movie.com, I'm asking you to get more
involved. But as incentive, I'm going to give you more reasons to do so.
Casting
There will be 3-5 rolls that you as producers will help cast. They are not
the leads (we'll be announcing them soon), but still roles very important to
the story. You are allowed to audition yourself if you wish. However, here
is where your voice could determine some casting of the film.
We will provide audition clips on line and only producers of My Million
Dollar Movie.com will be allowed to vote on their favorites. The actors with
the most producer votes for will be cast in the role.
Referrals
In the next few weeks, there is a new field coming to the purchase page in
which new buyers can state the producer who has referred them to the
project. The Producer with the most referrals at the end of the funding
process will have their credit elevated to that of Co-producerť, to be
placed at the beginning of the film. You will be notified as soon as the
feature is available. In the meantime, if you've already referred some
producers to the site, please have them email me stating so, and I will add
these names to your count.
Contests
I've been waiting to announce these for a little while. Just like our
involvement with our charities, I want to give a little back for all your
help.
1 . Producers who have purchased 2 or more frames will be entered in a draw
for a chance to win an autographed copy of the script, signed by the cast.
For every 2 frames you own, you will be issued a ballot.
2 .Producers who have purchased 5 or more frames will be entered in a draw
for a chance to win a framed film poster for Free For All But You. It will
be autographed by the cast and crew. For every 5 frames you own, you will be
issued a ballot.
3 .Producers who have purchased 10 or more frames will be entered in a draw
for a chance to win a walk on role in the film. This roll might even include
a speaking line. For every 10 frames you own, you will be issued a ballot.
4 .Producers who have purchased 25 or more frames will be entered in a draw
for a chance to win a trip to Montréal to be the my guest on set, and meet
the actor of your choice! For every 25 frames you own, you will be issued a
ballot.
5 . Producers who have purchased 50 or more frames will be entered in a draw
for a chance to win a trip to the red carpet premier of the film. For every
50 frames you own, you will be issued a ballot.
As always, I'm available should you have any questions. I hope you will all
embrace these new opportunities and continue to spread the word about this
amazing endeavor we have all undertaken.
Many thanks for your help.
Cheers
Casey
Charities.
We recognize that the most business-minded identify investing in the
environment as revenue-neutral if not revenue-positive. It has been part of
our plan from day one for this unique project to not only support the
creation of a feature film, but to draw attention and financially support
charity organizations.
Since 2002, 1% For The Planet has inspired members of the business community
to contribute 1% of sales to environmental groups around the world.
To be perfectly honest, it's not about us. It's about businesses recognizing
that industry and ecology are inherently connected. It's about realizing the
positive effects of connecting businesses, consumers and nonprofits through
philanthropy. And it's about understanding that the true cost of doing
business can be mitigated by a simple pledge to the planet.
We value that your participation is not only helping us to make this film,
but the profits from your purchase will be helping keep our planet
beautiful.
So instead of simply donating 1% of Full Plate Production's profits, I will
be donating 3% to our charity of choice, The David Suzuki Foundation.
But we're not stopping there. In addition to our commitment to keep our
planet beautiful, we also support the "Make Poverty History" campaign.
Make Poverty History is part of a global call to action against poverty.
The campaign was launched in Canada in 2005 with the support of a wide
cross-section of public interest and faith groups, trade unions, students,
academics, literary, artistic and sports leaders. National campaigns are now
active in over 100 countries.
To find a campaign in your country, go to the Global Call to Action Against
Poverty's website at :http://www.whiteband.org
And finally, we feel that it would be irresponsible of us to claim being for
the environment while creating a production that leaves a climate footprint.
So we've teamed up with Planetair.ca
to ensure our production is "Climate Neutral".
They follow the Gold Standard offsets, which adhere to the most stringent
criteria currently available on the voluntary offsetting market. This means
that we are not only offsetting our carbon foot print, but also that of our
"radiative forcing index," which takes into account the negative effects of
emissions at high altitudes from the planes.
Planetair.ca is part of the Unisféra International Centre, a non-profit
organization dedicated to the advancement of sustainable development. We
encourage you to check out their site, offset your own Carbon Footprint and
do your part to keep our planet beautiful for future generations.
